First and foremost, thank you to all our customers who continue to support us during these difficult times.
Effective 4/3/2020 Governor DeSantis has issued a statewide shelter in place order for non-essential travel. Kel's Rod & Reel Svc. is permitted to continue operations as a commercial facility supporting e-commerce through distribution and call center support. We will continue to process and ship web orders as long as it is deemed safe to do so.
If you are a local customer, we ask that you please pre-pay for local pickup by calling in your order ahead of time. Prior to arrival, notify us and we will have the order waiting for you. We will not be able to process your order at the door.
We have also expanded our sanitization measures company wide and implement strict social distancing policies throughout all departments.
We appreciate you all and will continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to get your orders out the door. Please continue to monitor our site and social channels for additional updates. Stay safe!
Even with the COVID-19 pandemic we are open during normal business hours until Seminole county is put on stay at home orders. We are open Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-3pm per usual. We are working as fast as we can to get your orders out and back to you as soon as possible. We understand that since many people have nothing to do, fishing is one thing they can and a great way to get out of the house. We will get everything out as fast as we can, if parts are available. Many of the companies are shut down across the nation and are unable to get out parts orders to us, if we cant get those parts then we wont be able to fix your stuff at this time. As many of you know, our annual parking lot sale will be this Saturday December 8th from 9am-3pm. We open the parking lot up to our customers to sell their fishing tackle, equipment, etc. Bring a tent, a table or the bed of your truck! There is no fee for setting up a table. As always the only thing NOT allowed is boats or gas motors. The parking lot sale is in the FRONT lot of the plaza. Call or email with any other questions!! Hope to see you there.
If any of our customers are in need of cleaning their reels, fixing their rods or are experiencing trolling motor issues should bring in their gear now. We are in our slow down period for fall/winter and this is the best time to get your fishing equipment back to you in a short period of time. Reels are about a week to a week and a half. Rods are done every Thursday and pickup is on Friday. Trolling motor turn around is at 3 days if we have the parts in the shop and about 2-3 weeks if we have to order parts. Per usual, we will be having our annual praking lot sale this year on the first Saturday of December, which is the 8th.
Rods, Reels, anything involving fishing not including boats and boat motors are welcome! We allow our customers to sell all of their old fishing equipment, and let all of our customers know that people are looking to get rid of their stuff. Feel free to bring your own tables and chairs for the set up or tents even. Set up starts 30 minutes prior to the shop opening up which would be 8:30AM. No earlier than that please! We hope to see you there!!

Summer is at its peak and so are we with our work load at Kels. Right now for reel repair we are about 2 weeks out, not including parts if they have to be ordered and shipped in. For trolling motors we are at least a week an a half to diagnose the issue and order parts afterwards. Keep in mind we have one worker for all the motors we get in and we have 50+ right now. We also had ICAST this past week, and are a few days behind because of that convention. We ask for your patience and understanding at this time. Thank you.
Kels is proud to announce that as of 7/1/18 we are now an authorized Daiwa reel warranty center.
We are very excited to share the news and look forward to servicing your reels in the years to come.
For some of you, specifically those that live in a place that's not feasible to make the drive to Kel's, we have the solution. Here at Kel's we accept reels that are mailed to us and we can ship them back after servicing for the shipping fee price based on weight. For those interested in mailing in their reels, all we ask is that you provide us with the following information, preferably written on a piece of paper and stuck in the box you mail the reel with:
-Your full name
-Best phone number to reach you at
- What issue you are experiencing with the reel
-If you want us to just fix the issue at hand, or if you want us to clean the whole reel and fix any issue we find on top of the ones you noticed.
When we receive your reel we will call you at the number you provide to us, to ensure you we got the reel and tell you the estimated time frame we will get the reel done and shipped back to you. We can ship USPS, FedEx, and UPS if need be. We also can mail out parts by themselves if you would like to do the repair yourself and you just need the parts from us. Call in if you have any other questions about our mailing system!
Due to the weather, tomorrow we may not have our parking lot sale. In the case that it rains we will not be having the sale tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.
